Autumn the Giraffe is Pregnant!

Greenville Zoo officials have announced that Autumn, the zoo’s nine-year-old Masai giraffe, is pregnant. The zoo’s veterinary staff confirmed the pregnancy through hormone analysis, and after reviewing zoo keepers’ daily logs. Autumn could give birth as early as February.

Education Programs

Saturday Safari

December 12
4-5 year olds - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

6-8 year olds - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Do some Christmas shopping while your children enjoy a fun and educational program at the zoo!

Classes are designed to help children (ages 4-8) discover the fascinating world of animals. Classes combine a lesson with crafts, activities, trips into the zoo and animals in the classroom. Program length is 2 hours.

Homeschool Program

Monday, December 14 or Tuesday, December 15
K5-2nd Grades: 9:00 am – 10:30 am
3rd-5th Grades: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
6th-8th Grades: 2:00 am – 3:30 pm

Classes will include crafts, animal encounters, and pre and post activities to help ensure that your child has a wild time at the zoo.

Zoo Hours

The Greenville Zoo is open from 10:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. 
The zoo is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
The zoo is also closed Feb. 1 – Feb. 12 for maintenance projects inside the zoo.
