Zoo Tots

Zoo Tots classes are designed to help children explore and engage with the natural world. Classes combine an “on your own” exploratory play time, featuring crafts, sensory bins, and educational stations, with a structured circle time and animal encounter.

4 to 6 years old • Drop off class
Select Saturdays • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Classes are designed to help children discover the fascinating world of animals. Classes are held in the Conservation Station and combine a lesson with crafts, activities, trips into the zoo, and live animal encounters!

Reconnect with nature on hikes, bird explorations, night time frog searches, and so much more. No plan, no itinerary, just come as you are and enjoy!

I Snoozed at the Greenville Zoo

Spend the night at the zoo! Ages 5 and up
See the zoo in a whole new light! Behind-the-scenes visits, animal encounters, activities, crafts, games, and a flashlight safari are all part of this overnight adventure. Great for church groups, schools, team building, scouts, etc.

Teacher Workshops
The Greenville Zoo's education department is excited to offer professional development opportunities. Workshops are open to all educators. Explore new curriculum, participate in hands-on activities and build your knowledge of the natural world. Each professional development session is available for continuing education credits or professional development growth points.

Vulture Awareness Day

International Vulture Awareness Day

Saturday, September 2, 2017 • 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The first Saturday in September is set aside as a day to consider the ecological importance of a bird of prey that is otherwise mostly dismissed with a shudder. With some species under severe threat of extinction, International Vulture Day aims to educate a reluctant public about the critical role this creature plays in the well-being of the environment.

The annual sampling event presented by the Greenville Zoo Foundation transforms the Greenville Zoo into a pathway of wine and food tasting stations and live music! The purpose of Sippin’ Safari is to raise awareness and funds for various zoo programs and the Greenville Zoo Foundation.
