Can we bring food and drinks along? Are picnic areas available?
Yes, you may bring food and drinks into the zoo. There are two covered picnic shelters inside the zoo, one beside the concession stand and another across from the Education Building. Please do not bring any glass or alcohol into the zoo.

How long does it take to tour the zoo?
It takes approximately 1-1½ hours to tour the zoo.

Are there special feeding times?
Animals are generally fed before the zoo opens and at closing time.

Are pets welcome in the zoo?
Pets are welcome in Cleveland Park, but not inside the zoo grounds.

Is smoking allowed at The Greenville Zoo?
The City of Greenville has a smoke-free ordinance that prohibits smoking in certain outdoor areas, including zoos. Those wishing to smoke must do so outside the zoo, at least 10 feet from any entry.

How can I be assured animals are treated humanely?
The Greenville Zoo makes every effort to ensure that all of the physical and psychological needs of each animal are met and/or surpassed. As an AZA accredited institution, the Greenville Zoo must meet the official approval by a group of zoo experts. These experts, called the AZA Accreditation Commission, carefully examine each zoo that applies for AZA membership, including living environments, social groupings, health and nutrition. The AZA also make sure that animals are provided with enrichment, which stimulates each animal's natural behavior and provides variety in their daily routine. The Greenville Zoo prides itself on continuing to maintain these high standards.

What is your method of payment?
Cash, Check, VISA and MasterCard. Photo identification is required with a VISA or MasterCard.

Do you have an ATM in the zoo?
Unfortunately we do not have an ATM onsite. The closest ATM is only a few blocks away, at the Spinx Gas Station at the intersection of Laurens Road and Washington Street.

Is alcohol allowed in the zoo?
No alcohol is allowed in the zoo. Alcohol is only allowed in the zoo during a Special Event when permits, insurance and alcohol licenses have been obtain and approved.

Do you have a concession stand?
Yes. The concession stand is located right past the Reptile Building. You can purchase drinks, hot dogs, chips, popcorn and an assortment of candy.

Do you have a gift shop?
Yes. The Safari Shop offers an array of zoo-themed gifts, t-shirts and toys. VISA and MasterCard are accepted in the gift shop.

Can you reserve shelters inside the zoo?
The shelters inside the zoo are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The shelters located just outside the zoo may be rented. For more information on renting those shelters, see Greenville's facility listing.

Do you rent wheelchairs, wagons, or strollers?
Equipment rental is unavailable. However, you are welcome to bring your own to the zoo. The entire Greenville Zoo is accessible.

Is the zoo handicapped accessible?
Yes. The zoo has both ramps and stairs leading to all exhibits.
16.
Where are the restrooms located in the zoo?
Restrooms are located in the Farmyard Exhibit area and behind concessions. Also, you will find restrooms outside the zoo, to the right of the ticket booth.

Can you leave the zoo and return later?
Sorry, admission is valid for one entry.
18.
Do you give rain checks for inclement weather?
The zoo is unable to provide rain checks.
19.
Can you bring bikes, rollerblades, skates or skateboards to the zoo?
For the safety of others, please leave all such devices outside the zoo.

Do you offer birthday parties at the zoo?
All birthday parties take place at the Annex Building located outside the zoo entrance, and include admission to the zoo. Note: Birthday parties are for children turning 3 to 11 years old. To inquire about a birthday party reservation, contact the Education Department at 864-467-4850. Package payment is due upon scheduling in order to reserve birthday date.

Does the member have to be present to purchase a membership?
Anyone can purchase an annual membership in-or-out-of-state. You must have the recipient's name and address.

Can my friend use my membership card without me present?
Only the zoo members whose names are on the card have permission to use the membership.
3.
Do members have to be present for guest to use complimentary passes?
No. Guest passes are good for a one-time-only visit to the zoo.
4.
Can I get a refund for a membership?
Sorry, memberships are nonrefundable.
