Animal Kingdom
Meets South Carolina Physical Education Standards 6-3.1 f
Learn about the classification through contact with the real thing! We compare
"invertebrates" to "vertebrates" with an emphasis on the five vertebrate
classes. Live animals illustrate the basic features of each class.

Habitats!
Find out what makes a home a habitat as we look at them on a larger scale. This
highly interactive program explores the differences between deserts, tundra,
grasslands, ocean and the rainforest.

Careers with Animals
This program presents young teens with educational opportunities, salary ranges
and ideas on how to start planning for an exciting job they may have not
considered.

Who's Who in the Zoo
How much does an elephant eat? How does the lion get a shot? Where does the zoo
get the animals who live there? Zookeeping techniques and general care of the
Greenville Zoo animals are emphasized.

We work with teachers and their staff to develop specialized programs to fit the
needs of the class and curriculum. Please contact the
education department to set up a meeting.
Middle School Career Day
If you are interested in an animal career, this is your opportunity to learn.
The next career day is set for 1-4 pm, Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.

Volunteers
Are you a student interested in volunteering at the Zoo? The Education Department
has volunteer training sessions twice a year. All volunteers must be 14 years
and older. Training occurs in November and late April-early May. Training fees
apply.
