Become a Volunteer for Boo in the Zoo

Greenville Zoo’s annual family-friendly Halloween event for all ages features trick-or-treating and fun specialty areas including Dragon Alley, a princess castle and an extinct species graveyard. We would love for you to join us in volunteering at Boo in the Zoo! Below you will find job descriptions and shift times for the event.

Boo in the Zoo Shift Times

October 14 - October 17    |     2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

October 21 - October 24     |     2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

October 28 - October 31    |     2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Job Titles and Descriptions

Admissions AttendantAssist Zoo staff with line management. This includes managing social distancing and assisting guests with questions they may have about their tickets.
Candy Concierge Set up candy table, place linen, and pass out the specified pieces of candy to each quest wearing a trick or treat sticker.
Merchandise AttendantSell merchandise and handle money outside of the front gate. (Must be 18 years or older to volunteer in this position)


Event Details

  • Please make sure you come on time for this event and keep to your volunteer schedule.
  • All volunteers must check-in 15 minutes prior to the beginning of their shift.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to dress in costume
  • Boo in the Zoo is rain or shine, so please be prepared for the weather the day of your shift.
  • No one under the age of 14 years old may volunteer.
