[ARCHIVED] March 11, 2022: Happy Birthday Oscar!

Oscar the Box Turtle

Oscar the box turtle celebrated his 36th birthday at the Greenville Zoo on March 7th. Oscar has been an education ambassador animal since his arrival at the Greenville Zoo in 1994. Box turtles commonly live 25-30 years in the wild but have been known to reach ages of 40-50 years old. There are records of box turtles living more than 100 years but this is rare. We hope Oscar will break the record!
