Meet Our Zookeepers
The Zoo may be closed, but our keepers are still working hard to care for our wild friends. During our closing, we’ll be introducing some of our keepers, so you can get to know more about them and their daily routines at the Greenville Zoo. In case you missed our Facebook post this week, we’d like to introduce you to Zookeeper Greg. Keeper Greg has been at the Greenville Zoo for eleven years. He is in charge of our Asia area which includes our Amur leopards, Sumatran orangutans, red pandas, Siamangs, Palawan peacock pheasant and our Prevost's squirrel. Each morning, Greg prepares these animals for their day. He cleans their exhibit space and prepares enrichment to keep them busy and stimulated. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, as we will continue to visit with our keepers while closed.

Kiden Farewell Our two-year-old female Masai giraffe, Kiden, will be transferred to the Oregon Zoo in Portland later this Spring. The move is part of the Masai Giraffe Species Survival Plan. Kiden will be paired with Buttercup, the Oregon Zoo’s five-year-old male Masai giraffe. Because fans are unable to say goodbye in person, you are invited to say farewell during a Facebook LIVE virtual going-away party on April 15 at 10:00 a.m.

Springing Forward
Spring is always a busy time for the Greenville Zoo. The Zoo’s highest ticket sales typically occur during this time. Due to the necessary closure during the COVID-19, the Zoo will have limited tickets sales during what is normally the busiest time of the year. If you are missing us as much as we are missing you, consider DONATING the cost of an admission ticket, OR if your Zoo membership is about to expire, go ahead and RENEW. We will make sure your membership is extended for the length of our closure to ensure you are able to get a full year of benefits. We love our members and can’t wait to open the gates again! Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy the Facebook Live videos as we wait.
