Ready for Spring? We Are!

Thank you for your patience during the annual February closure. While the zoo was closed, staff was hard at work with regular animal care and annual maintenance projects.

The staff and the animals are excited to welcome guests back, so make plans to come visit your favorite animal friends! Reserve your tickets online.

Giraffe Update

Autumn gave birth to a healthy female calf on Sunday, February 21 at 2:28 p.m. The calf was standing on her own at 3:08 p.m. and began nursing shortly after that. Zoo staff performed a neonatal exam on Monday afternoon and determined that the calf is six feet tall and weighs a healthy 148.5 pounds.

Mom and calf are bonding and doing great! Stay updated on the calf's progress by following the Greenville Zoo on social media and watching the live giraffe camera.

New Leopard Enclosure

Earlier this month, the Greenville Zoo broke ground on a new Amur leopard enclosure, which will include a holding facility and a day room where guests can view the leopards when they are not in their habitat. The project is expected to be completed in May.

Meet Captain!

Captain, an eastern screech owl, is one of the zoo’s newest education ambassador animals. She recently began appearing in the zoo’s education programs, so be on the lookout for her in your next Greenville Zoo educational experience! She's a real HOOT!
